Safety Specialists provides training to simplify the complicated regulations that govern hazardous materials transportation within the United States and internationally. We offer training courses covering the requirements of US Department of Transportation (DOT), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
We offer on-site and online training options. Due to Covid-19, we have transitioned our on site training to online. Online training is offered as a public group class or as a private class.
Who needs training?
Anyone who affects the safe transport of hazardous materials needs to have hazardous materials training. The type of training and the specific topics covered depends on the job function of the employee.
Some job functions include: reading and interpreting the regulations, overseeing hazardous materials shipping, classification of materials, packaging, marking and labeling hazmat packages, completing hazardous materials documentation and load vehicles, and training others.
